Goals

Development of an autonomous vehicle platform that enables autonomous driving with lane and obstacle recognition without a map under limited real-road environments and driving conditions using IONIQ 5

Issues Involved or Addressed

  • 1. Accurate recognition of lanes and dynamic/static obstacles based on cameras on real roads without high-resolution maps
    2. Recognition/tracking of surrounding vehicles and estimation of position/relative speed using a lidar
    3. Speed/wheel control of vehicle based on recognition of surrounding obstacles (including lane change and ACC functions)

Medtods and Technologies

  • 1. Training and applying multi-tasking (object detection, lane recognition, driving area classification) DNN models based on YOLO
    2. Applying point-pillar or similar lidar data processing tools and object tracking based on Kalman filtering
    3. Speed/wheel control of vehicle such as PID, Pure-Pursuit, and MPC

Preferred Interests and Preparation

  • 1. Computer vision and AI
    2. Automatic control
    3. Sensors and signal processing
    4. System integration
